Press Release  Logan and Roy found not guilty on a child endangerment charge

PITTSFIELD — Two North Adams people were found not guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court. The jury deliberated for about 3 hours before returning its verdict against 28 year old BRETT LOGAN and 35 year old KARISA J. MIRANDA-RUIZ a/k/a KARISA ROY.

LOGAN and MIRANDA-RUIZ were found not guilty on one (1) count each of RECKLESS ENDANGERMENT OF A CHILD.

It was alleged that LOGAN and MIRANDA-RUIZ had reason to know that a then 11 month old child was being abused and did nothing to stop or report the alleged abuse. The incident was alleged to have occurred in North Adams between September 1, 2014 and October 5, 2014.

The investigation was conducted by State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and members of the North Adams Police Department.
