PITTSFIELD — A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges. 37 year old JUAN LOPEZ-LUCAS appeared before Judge John Agostini.
LOPEZ-LUCAS pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A DISABLED PERSON and one (1) count of CARETAKER ABUSE ON A DISABLED PERSON. Judge Agostini accepted the pleas and ordered that the charges be continued without a finding for one year.
LOPEZ-LUCAS while employed by the Eagleton School assaulted a student. The incident occurred between August 1, 2015 and August 31, 2015.
Two (2) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A DISABLED PERSON and one (1) count of CARETAKER ABUSE ON A DISABLED PERSON were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth. Those charges were connected to the assault of another student on July 11, 2013.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Great Barrington Police Department and state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
