Press Release  Man Charged in 2019 Haverhill Fatal Hit and Run

A 76-year old man has been charged in connection with a fatal hit and run.

Haverhill, MAA clerk magistrate has issued a criminal complaint charging a 76-year old man with motor vehicle homicide in connection with a 2019 fatal hit and run.

Dimitrios Zaralidis of Haverhill has been summoned to be arraigned on May 13, 2021 in Haverhill District Court on Motor Vehicle Homicide by Negligent Operation, Leaving the Scene of Property Damage and Crosswalk Violation.  The complaint alleges that Mr. Zaralidis struck and killed Charles Burrill as he was crossing Main Street on January 25, 2019.

The investigation was completed by the Haverhill Police Detective and Traffic and Safety Units and the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section with assistance from the Essex District Attorney’s Office.

Mr. Zaralidis is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.
