PITTSFIELDPolice are investigating an early morning shooting that took place near Ashley Reservoir in Washington.    

According to investigators, a 911 call was received about 1 a.m. reporting a 19 year old man had been shot in the vicinity of the reservoir.  The victim was transported to Berkshire Medical Center, in Pittsfield, where he underwent surgery.  He is listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit of the hospital. 

The matter remains under investigation and no suspects are in custody as of this time.   If you have information relevant to the shooting, please call state police detectives at (413) 499-1112. 

The investigation is being conducted by state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services and Ballistics Sections, forensic scientists assigned to the State Police Crime Laboratory, state troopers from the Lee and  Cheshire barracks, members of the Dalton, Washington and Hinsdale Police Departments and the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department.
