PITTSFIELDA North Adams man died yesterday afternoon in a work site accident on the Massachusetts Turnpike. 

The accident occurred about 1:45 p.m. Thursday at the 17.2 mile marker in the town of Becket.  26 year old BRIAN M. SIMARD was pronounced dead at the scene. 

No further details will be released at this time as the accident remains under investigation.  

The investigation is being conducted by state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, the Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section, the state police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Section, the Crime Scene Service Section of the state police, state troopers assigned to the Westfield barracks, Mass DOT and members of the Occupational Safety and Health Administration.
