PittsfieldA Pittsfield man who pleaded guilty to committing sexual acts with minors was sentenced to state prison on Tuesday in Berkshire County Superior Court.

Steve W. Trybus, 49, pleaded guilty on Tuesday to 10 counts of indecent assault and battery on a child under 14, four counts of rape and abuse of a child, open and gross lewdness, and intimidation of a witness. Judge John Agostini sentenced Trybus to three to five years in state prison and three years of probation. Berkshire Assistant District Attorney Joseph Yorlano had recommended five to six years in state prison and five years of probation in the case.

Trybus was arraigned on April 5, 2017, following an investigation led by the Pittsfield Police Department and Detective Tim Koenig. Trybus committed the crimes in Pittsfield from 2005 to 2008.
