Study Finds Longer, More Consistent Addiction Medication Use Among Youth Sharply Lowers Risk of Overdose, Hospitalization

Mass General Brigham worked with data from the Public Health Data Warehouse tostudy of more than 11,000 adolescents and young adults from across Massachusetts who used buprenorphine. Researchers found those who took buprenorphine for 12 months had almost half the risk of overdose compared to those who discontinued early. Pediatrics published the article, which is summarized on the Mass General Brigham website.
