WAKEFIELDAt its meeting on May 19, 2022, the Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine took disciplinary action against the medical licenses of Yashwant S. Chaudhri, M.D. and Douglas B. Bober, M.D.

In a Final Decision and Order, the Board revoked Dr. Yashwant S. Chaudhri’s right to renew his license to practice medicine after the Board found that Dr. Chaudhri had been disciplined by the Medical Board of California for reasons substantially similar to those for which Massachusetts could impose discipline, to wit, for failing to properly document multiple aspects of a patient’s care and for not properly terminating the physician-patient relationship with that patient. Dr. Chaudhri, a psychiatrist, was licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth from July 30, 1997 until December 28, 1997 when he did not renew his license.  He currently practices medicine in the Greater San Diego area. Dr. Chaudhri is currently licensed to practice medicine in both California and New York.

The Board accepted Dr. Douglas B. Bober’s resignation of his right to renew his license to practice medicine. Resignation is a disciplinary action that permanently removes a physician from the practice of medicine. Dr. Bober was licensed to practice medicine in the Commonwealth from June 24, 1987 until August 17, 2012.  He last performed teleradiological services associated with a private practice in Georgia. Dr. Bober is also licensed to practice medicine in Florida.

The Massachusetts Board of Registration in Medicine licenses more than 40,000 physicians, osteopaths and acupuncturists.  The Board was created in 1894 to protect the public health and safety by setting standards for the practice of medicine and ensuring that doctors who practice in the Commonwealth are appropriately qualified and competent. The Board investigates complaints and determines sanctions. More information is available at www.mass.gov/massmedboard, or you may contact the Board at borimmedia@massmail.state.ma.us.
