BOSTON — The Massachusetts Department of Transportation (MassDOT) is announcing that the Interactive Mapping Portal for Analysis and Crash Tracking (IMPACT) Crash Portal is now available at a new address. This tool is designed to support research, raise awareness about road safety, and enhance public safety initiatives throughout the Commonwealth.

The IMPACT Crash Portal features an interactive dashboard that allows users to examine crash data by municipality, region, and mode of travel, including specific categories such as motorcycle crashes. Additionally, the portal provides access to valuable safety analysis tools, enabling users to gain insights and make informed decisions based on comprehensive data. The portal also features a crash tabulation and charting tool, pre-built reports, data query and visualization, and a data extraction service.

The crash data are compiled by the Registry of Motor Vehicles (RMV), based on crash reports submitted by Massachusetts State Police and municipal police departments. By improving access to critical information, the IMPACT portal aims to foster a deeper understanding of crash trends and contribute to ongoing efforts to increase safety for all road users in Massachusetts.

The IMPACT Crash Portal can be accessed at https://apps.crashdata.dot.mass.gov/cdp/home
