MCSW's Virtual Women's Advocacy Day: Virtual Voices Creating Community Change

BOSTON, MA — MASS. COMMISSION ON THE STATUS OF WOMEN —

                                              Registration *NOW OPEN*

The Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women invites you to Virtual Women's Advocacy Day: Virtual Voices Creating Community Change held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021, from 10:00-12:00pm.

Advocacy day is an annual event held by the Massachusetts Commission on the Status of Women in partnership with Regional Commissions to advocate for legislation that advances the rights and opportunities of women and girls of the Commonwealth.

The Commission discusses key state and regional findings from the previous year, summarizes collected testimony from virtual public hearings and lays out our legislative priorities for the coming session.

This year for Advocacy Day we will be prioritizing three bills which can be found within this toolkit. While we cannot host Advocacy Day at the State House just yet, MCSW will be hosting breakout rooms directly after the presentation from 11:00-12:00pm. This is where YOU can advocate in front of Legislators, State and Regional Commissioners, and fellow constituents for these bills and how it would greatly impact your community.

We will have five breakout rooms available: Greater Boston, Central MA, Western MA, North Shore and Southeastern/Cape and Islands. When signing up on Eventbrite, please indicate which breakout room you would like to participate in so you can be assigned to the room ahead of time!

In addition to Advocacy Day this year, we are launching a social media campaign called Virtual Voices Creating Community Change!

Virtual Voices Creating Community Change is a social media campaign for constituents of the Commonwealth to share why their Legislator should support one of the three bills that MCSW is prioritizing this year for Virtual Women's Advocacy Day.

In order to submit your video, tag us at @masscsw on our social media platforms and use the hashtag #MCSWVirtualVoices. Three videos will be selected by MCSW to be featured at our Virtual Women's Advocacy Day held on Wednesday, May 19, 2021 from 10:00-12:00pm!
