PITTSFIELD — A Pittsfield man pleaded guilty this morning in Berkshire Superior Court to several charges. 28 year old JULIAN D. MEDINA-AVILES appeared before Judge John Agostini.
MEDINA-AVILES pleaded guilty to two (2) counts of RAPE AND ABUSE OF A CHILD and one (1) count of POSE OR EXHIBIT A CHILD IN A SEXUAL ACT. Judge Agostini ordered that he serve concurrent 2 to 3 year state prison sentences at the Massachusetts Correctional Institution at Cedar Junction on the charges of RAPE AND ABUSE OF A CHILD. MEDINA-AVILES was placed on probation for 2 years on the other charge.
The incidents occurred in Pittsfield between February 27, 2016 and November 19, 2016 and involved a girl who is now 17 years of age.
One (1) count of INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON BY MEANS OF A REWARD, one (1) count of INTIMIDATION OF A WITNESS OR OTHER PERSON and one (1) count of VIOLATION OF AN ABUSE PREVENTION ORDER were dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
