Massachusetts Probation Commissioner Pamerson O. Ifill named Lilliana "Lilli" Sauer, Assabet Valley Regional Technical High School senior, “Co-Commissioner for the Day” on Tuesday. Commissioner Ifill recognized Lilli’s academic achievements, artistic talents, and her community service work with local senior citizens.

“I was so inspired by your work and the beauty of the concept of the piece,” Commissioner Ifill said of her artwork. Lilli’s artwork was featured at Marlborough District Court’s Cultural Appreciation Week celebration last fall.

Massachusetts Trial Court Chief Justice Heidi Brieger swore Lilli in for the ceremonial role during a celebration in the Office of the Commissioner of Probation (OCP) as her parents, Christopher and Kristen, and two younger siblings, ages six and eight looked on. Lilli also co-signed important Probation policy on “ImageAdvancing Leadership.docx” with Commissioner Ifill.

Court Administrator Thomas Ambrosino, Marlborough District Court First Justice Meghan Spring, Chief Probation Lynn Dadekian, Probation Officer Ashley Losapio as well as members of the Commissioner’s Executive Team and MPS employees also attended.

Lilli who will attend the New England Institute of Technology in Rhode Island in the fall, is an artist and Honors Society student who plans to study animation or game design. Her artwork was featured at Marlborough District Court’s Cultural Appreciation Week celebration last fall.

In addition to her artistic pursuits, Lilli volunteers regularly, including field trips to local senior centers where "she patiently assists residents with IT issues, bridging the gap between technology and those who need a little extra guidance.” She is known for her "kindness, creativity, and drive which makes her someone who not only dreams big, but; also makes a meaningful impact on those around her," according to Assabet Valley School officials.

Lilli is the fourth student leader to be sworn in as Co-Commissioner of the Massachusetts Probation Service over the past few years.

Previous honorees have included Tairih King, a then 9-year-old honors student who had undergone treatment for Hodgkins lymphoma; Xander Rueyevean, a Charlestown High School junior; and Marli Forrester, a 9th grade Mattapan resident and student leader.
