News  MPS' Boston Strong Tournament winners and volunteers celebrate win and present Championship trophy to Probation Commissioner and Executive Team

Members of the Massachusetts Probation Service's winning team and volunteers at the recent 13th Annual Boston Strong Invitational Tournament presented a two-foot championship trophy to Probation Commissioner Pamerson Ifill and members of the Executive Team during a July 15th breakfast.

The Boston Strong event is a basketball tournament hosted by State Police in commemoration of the lives lost during the Boston Marathon tragedy. This event which brings together law enforcement agencies and first responders took place at the Reggie Lewis Track and Athletic Center in Boston on May 30th.

“On behalf of myself and the entire Executive Team, I want to congratulate you all. We’re proud of you, your commitment, and time,” said Commissioner Ifill.

The MPS team, which also included a Suffolk Superior Court Officer and an attorney, won the tournament for the first time in the 13 years it has been held. The Commissioner also recognized the volunteers who attended the game.

Team MPS won all three games in the tournament and beat teams representing the Massachusetts State Police, West Bridgewater Police, and PRO EMS.

The team included the following players:

• Magnolima Nogueira, New Bedford District Court Probation Officer
• Daniel Offutt, Brockton District Court Probation Officer

• Trai Weaver, Associate Attorney
• Bernard Davis, BMC-Dorchester Probation Officer

MPS volunteers included:
