Massachusetts Probation Service (MPS) employees from the Pretrial Services, Records, Sealing and Expungement units attended and participated in a Resource Fair hosted by Rosie’s Place in Boston recently.

Rosie’s Place is described as a “multi-service community center that offers women emergency shelter and meals,” on its website.

Shawnta Reid, Pretrial Services Operations Coordinator, said of MPS’ participation, “The Resource Fair offered Rosie’s guests the chance to explore available services and to connect directly with community organizations like ours.”

The Pretrial Division offered information regarding current positions open in the Trial Court as well as information pertaining to the upcoming Probation Officer exam.

“We also informed the participants that we are certified application counselors who can assist with submitting an application, recertification and changing plans,” Ms. Reid said.

Community engagement is a top priority for the Massachusetts Probation Service. MPS employees are actively planning and hosting a wide range of events designed to develop meaningful connections with clients and their families as well as engage with the larger community.
