News  MPS' fourth Probation Officer Academy kicked off this week

A new group of Probation Officers began training at the three-week Probation Officer Academy on Monday at the Massachusetts Probation Service Operations and Training Center (MTOC).

Commissioner Pamerson Ifill and First Deputy Commissioner Brian Mirasolo addressed the Probation Officers in attendance on the first day.

The twenty new officers represent Boston Municipal-Central , East Boston, and Roxbury courts; Barnstable, Suffolk, and Worcester Juvenile courts; Attleboro, East Boston, Springfield, Orange, Plymouth, Wareham, Worcester, and Quincy District courts; and Essex, Bristol, and Middlesex Probate & Family courts.

Eleven attendees of the academy class are former Associate Probation Officers, one was a Case Administrator II, another participant was an Assistant ELMO Specialist, one was a Probation Case Administrator II, one was an Assistant Court Services Coordinator, and five are newly hired from outside of the MPS.

Graduation is set for Thursday, June 18th.
