PITTSFIELD — The preliminary results of an autopsy on a Pittsfield man indicate he died from a gunshot wound to the neck.
Dr. Irini Scordi-Bello, an Associate Medical Examiner for the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, conducted the autopsy on 30 year old David Green, Jr. Thursday afternoon in Holyoke and has ruled the death a homicide.
Green was shot near the Spring and Willow Street intersection, in Pittsfield, Saturday morning. He was transported to Berkshire Medical Center where he died Wednesday afternoon.
The investigation is being conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department with assistance from State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, the State Police Crime Scene Services Section, Forensic Scientists from the Crime Laboratory and the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department.
