Press Release  Pittsfield man pleads guilty to committing crimes against a disabled person

PITTSFIELDA Pittsfield man pleaded guilty Wednesday afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges.  38 year old ROSCOE R. ADAMS appeared before Judge Mark Mason. 

ADAMS pleaded guilty to one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A DISABLED PERSON and one (1) count of CARETAKER ABUSE ON A DISABLED PERSON.   Judge Mason continued the charges against ADAMS for one year without a finding.

ADAMS was employed by the Eagleton School and assaulted a student on June 10, 2013. 

One (1) count of MISLEADING A POLICE OFFICER OR OTHER PERSON was dismissed at the request of the Commonwealth.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Great Barrington Police Department and state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
