After the passing of her mother, Margaret Carini, a WWII nurse, Carol began volunteering with the office in 2022 to honor her legacy. For over nearly two years, Carol spent months reviewing 30 years of records with Vietnam Veteran Bob Pratt to identify widows who may be eligible for VA benefits. 

Their work uncovered cases where spouses had been previously denied or never knew they were entitled to support. Several survivors were granted life-changing benefits thanks to Carol’s care and persistence.
