Cape and IslandsCape & Islands District Attorney Michael O’Keefe announced today that at approximately 6:19 am a body was recovered in the area of 178 Shore Road in Truro.  A positive identification has yet to be made however, circumstances suggest that it may be the second kayaker with Carole Madru (dob 3/22/70) whose body was located in the area of 538 Shore Road in Truro on May 23, 2020.  Madru and another individual were seen kayaking in Provincetown on May 22, 2020.   A kayak was located off shore in the East Provincetown area along with a life preserver.  Foul play is not suspected.

It has been my distinct pleasure to serve the people of the Cape & Islands as District Attorney since January, 2003. Our Office prosecutes over 15,000 criminal cases every year. The dedicated and professional prosecutors and support staff members who work in this Office are here to serve the public, and seek justice in an aggressive and fair manner on behalf of the victims of crime.
