Probation, court staff, and community leaders filled Session One of the Roxbury Courthouse on Thursday to celebrate the retirement of Probation Regional Supervisor Renee Payne who managed Probation staff based at 13 courts in two regions: Norfolk County and the Boston Municipal Courts. In addition to her role as Regional Supervisor, Ms. Payne has held the positions of Probation Officer, Probation Officer in Charge, and Chief Probation Officer. She has also worked in the adult and juvenile probation departments.
“I want to acknowledge both past and current staff that I’ve worked with over the years. It’s been a great journey and I wish everyone the best,” said Ms. Payne.

Ms. Payne first joined the Massachusetts Probation Service as a Probation Officer in Suffolk Juvenile Court in 1989. She was later appointed a Probation Officer in Charge in 2000; and a Chief Probation Officer in the Office of the Commissioner of Probation (OCP) in 2005. She became the Chief Probation Officer at the Roxbury Division of Boston Municipal Court in July 2012.
