PITTSFIELD — A Lee man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on drug charges. 30 year old JONATHAN F. RICE (35 Laurel Street) appeared before Judge Daniel Ford.

RICE had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on five (5) counts of DISTRIBUTION OF HEROIN and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY TO VIOLATE DRUG LAWS. Judge Ford released him on personal recognizance.

It is alleged that RICE sold heroin on December 8, 2017, December 12, 2017, December 21, 2017, January 15, 2018 and February 6, 2018 and conspired with others to sell the drug between December 6, 2017 and February 18, 2018.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield and North Adams Police Departments, the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Office and State Troopers assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Berkshire Law Enforcement Task Force.
