Pittsfield — A Pittsfield man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court. 35 year old RANDY J. RUUSUKALLIO appeared before Judge Daniel Ford.

RUUSUKALLIO had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A CORRECTIONAL OFFICER, one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY BY MEANS OF A DANGEROUS WEAPON, VICTIM 60 YEARS OF AGE OR OLDER and one (1) count of ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A DISABLED PERSON. Judge Ford ordered that he be held at the Hampshire County House of Correction on $2,500 bail.

It is alleged that RUUSUKALLIO assaulted a 60 year old employee of the Berkshire County House of Correction on October 31, 2018.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department.
