PITTSFIELDA Williamstown couple was found guilty this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court.  The jury deliberated for about 8 hours over a two day period before returning its verdict against 73 year old SALLY J. GOULD and 71 year old JOHN T. GOULD. 

SALLY GOULD was found guilty on one (1) count of MISLEADING A POLICE OFFICER OR OTHER PERSON. 

JOHN GOULD was found guilty on one (1) count of MISLEADING A POLICE OFFICER OR OTHER PERSON. 

Judge John Agostini released them on personal recognizance pending sentencing which will occur on March 26th at 2 p.m. 

The jury found that SALLY and JOHN GOULD gave false statements to police during the investigation into an accident that seriously injured a 54 year old woman in Williamstown on February 9, 2016.  The incident occurred in Williamstown between February 10, 2016 and February 16, 2016.              

SALLY GOULD was found not guilty on one (1) count of LEAVING THE SCENE OF A PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENT and one (1) count of CONSPIRACY, TO WIT: MISLEADING A POLICE OFFICER OR OTHER PERSON. 

JOHN GOULD was found not guilty on one (1) count of CONSPIRACY, TO WIT: MISLEADING A POLICE OFFICER OR OTHER PERSON. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Williamstown Police Department and state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
