Press Release  Sally and John Gould receive suspended jail sentences and probation

PITTSFIELD — A Williamstown couple, found guilty March 14^th, was sentenced this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court.  The jury deliberated for about 8 hours over a two day period before returning its verdict against 73 year old SALLY J. GOULD and 71 year old JOHN T. GOULD. 

They were found guilty on one (1) count each of MISLEADING A POLICE OFFICER OR OTHER PERSON. 

Judge John Agostini gave SALLY and JOHN GOULD suspended 2 year house of correction sentences and placed them on probation for 2 years. 

The jury found that SALLY and JOHN GOULD mislead police during the investigation into an accident that seriously injured a 54 year old woman in Williamstown on February 9, 2016.  The incident occurred in Williamstown between February 10, 2016 and February 16, 2016.              

The investigation was conducted by members of the Williamstown Police Department and state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office with assistance from the Massachusetts State Police Collision Analysis and Reconstruction Section.
