Press Release  Shooting in Pittsfield poses no danger to public

PITTSFIELD — At 3:09 this afternoon, the Pittsfield Police Department received a call reporting that an individual had sustained a gunshot wound at the home of an off-duty Pittsfield Police Officer on Cromwell Avenue.    

First responders transported an injured party to Berkshire Medical Center where that person underwent surgery and is currently listed in stable condition. 

The shooting appears to be an isolated incident and there does not appear to be any risk to the public.

The investigation is being conducted by state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, members of the Pittsfield Police Department and the Berkshire County Sherriff’s Department.
