News  Somerville District Court Probation Department facilitates PUMA sneaker donation to Mystic Learning Center

As part of Commissioner Ifill’s community engagement initiative, Somerville District Court Probation participated in a Community Unity Basketball Game with the Somerville Police Department and the children from the Mystic Learning Center of Somerville this past June. After meeting so many members of the community and interacting with all the children, members of the Probation Department wanted to be able to give back to the children. 

ACPO Jessica Grassia thought it would be great to get the children new sneakers somehow. ACPO Grassia and PO Tom Hunt worked diligently over the past 2 months with PUMA who have their North America Headquarters seconds away from the Somerville District Court to facilitate a donation. PUMA generously donated 140 pairs of sneakers to the children of the Mystic Learning Center and the Mystic Housing Authority. 

A BIG THANK YOU to Katie Pawlika and Regan McCrossan from PUMA! We were able to present the donation during our CAW Signature Celebration. Members of the Mystic Learning Center have been sending pictures of the children receiving their sneakers and seeing their smiles has been the biggest reward of all! Thank you to all that made this possible!
