Press Release  Sookey charged with providing misleading information to investigators

PITTSFIELDAn Adams man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court.  61 year old DAVID I. SOOKEY, JR. (157 East Road) appeared before Judge Mark Mason.    

SOOKEY had a not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of MISLEADING, IMPEDING AND OBSTRUCTING A POLICE INVESTIGATION.  He was released on $10,000 bail.      

It is alleged that SOOKEY was the operator of a motor vehicle which struck and killed 85 year old Theresa Marby, of Adams, in Adams on February 16, 2018 and that he provided misleading information to investigating officers. 

SOOKEY had been charged with one (1) count of LEAVING THE SCENE OF A PERSONAL INJURY ACCIDENT, DEATH RESULTING at his February arraignment in Northern Berkshire District Court.  That charge will be dismissed in Northern Berkshire District Court in the near future.    

The investigation was conducted by members of the Adams Police Department, State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
