Press Release  Sookey is arraigned in Court on fatal hit and run

PITTSFIELDAn Adams man was arraigned this morning in Northern Berkshire District Court on several charges.  61 year old DAVID I. SOOKEY, JR. (157 East Road) appeared before Judge William Rota.    

SOOKEY had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of LEAVING THE SCENE OF A FATAL MOTOR VEHICLE ACCIDENT and one (1) count of MISLEADING, IMPEDING AND OBSTRUCTING A POLICE INVESTIGATION.  He was released on $25,000 bail on the condition SOOKEY not operate a motor vehicle during the pendency of the case.  He will be back in Court for a pre-trial hearing on March 19, 2018.     

It is alleged that SOOKEY was the operator of a motor vehicle which struck and killed 85 year old Theresa Marby, of Adams, in Adams on February 16, 2018. 

The investigation was conducted by members of the Adams Police Department, State Police Detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services Section.
