Salem, Massachusetts — Massachusetts State Trooper Dale Jenkins, 36, was arraigned in Salem Superior Court today on Operating Under the Influence and Being Negligent, Causing Serious Injury, Assault & Battery with a Dangerous Weapon, Causing Serious Injury and Carrying a Firearm While Intoxicated in connection with a motor vehicle crash in North Andover in May.  An Essex County Grand Jury indicted Jenkins on November 18, 2014 moving the case from District Court to Superior Court.

Judge John Lu ordered $20,000 cash bail and ordered Jenkins to abstain from alcohol with random screens, not to drive without a valid license and not to possess firearms.  This the same bail and conditions of release set at the District Court arraignment on May 6, 2014.

Jenkins allegedly crashed his Corvette into a telephone pole on Sharpner’s Pond Road in North Andover in the early morning hours of May 4, 2014.  His passenger, a 53-year old North Reading man, was airlifted to a Boston hospital with serious injuries.  While in the ambulance on the way to Lawrence General Hospital, rescue personnel allegedly noticed a firearm in Jenkins’ pants pocket.

Jenkins is represented by Attorney Henry Brennan and is presumed innocent until proven guilty in court.  He is due back in court on January 29, 2015 for a pre-trial conference.
