Dedham — For more than a decade, Steven J. Eosco has dedicated his time to ensuring veterans and their spouses have reliable transportation to critical medical appointments. Since joining the Rides for Vets program in December 2013, Eosco has driven over 5,000 miles, providing rides to veterans from World War II to the Iraq and Afghanistan conflicts.

Eosco, a retired veteran and lifelong advocate, signed up for the Norfolk County-based program just before his official retirement on February 1, 2014. Choosing to serve his local community in Norwood and surrounding towns, he transports veterans and their spouses to both private medical offices and VA facilities, fostering a sense of camaraderie along the way.

Beyond his work with Rides for Vets, Eosco is an active leader in the veteran community. Since 2012, he has been a DAV Life Member of Chapter 90 in Norwood and currently serves as chaplain for the VFW Post 1245 and the Norfolk County Marine Corps League.

For veterans in need of transportation, programs like Rides for Vets serve as a vital resource—thanks to dedicated individuals like Steven J. Eosco.
