David Velasco Bermudez, who was a participant of the infamous Stonewall Uprising, will share his story alongside his partner Bob Isadore at the Massachusetts Probation Service's Fourth Annual "Celebrating Pride: An MPS Annual Event being planned by the MPS LGBTQIA+ & MPS Training Team. This celebration will take place Friday, June 12th at 10 am, at the Massachusetts Probation Service Training and Operations Center (MTOC).

“We are excited to celebrate Pride and welcome Mr. Bermudez, a veteran of the Stonewall Uprising—an event that helped spark the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement in the United States. He will share his powerful personal story and perspective on this pivotal moment in history,” said Julie Grady, a member of the MPS LGBTQIA+ Instructors and MPS Training Team.

The Stonewall Uprising is described as a "series of spontaneous demonstrations by the LGBTQ+ community" in June 1969 at the Stonewall Inn in Manhattan's Greenwich Village which "served as a catalyst for the modern gay rights movement."

There will also be plenty of opportunities to connect, learn, and celebrate with a variety of fun and interactive activities planned throughout the day.
