News  Storm Damage Cleanup in Wetland Resource Areas - Barnstable County Tornado - Emergency Declaration

An Emergency Declaration to facilitate speedy recovery in Harwich, Yarmouth, Chatham and Dennis from damage caused by the tornado on July 23, 2019.

The Severe Weather Emergency Declaration issued by the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection on July 24, 2019 to facilitate speedy recovery from the two recent tornadoes has now been extended to include the Towns of Chatham and Dennis, in addition to the Towns of Harwich and Yarmouth.  All four towns sustained severe damage by the tornadoes. The Emergency Declaration will be in effect until August 24, 2019. The Emergency Declaration specifies the allowable activities and procedures to be used for post-storm cleanup resulting from damage caused the tornado.
