Suffolk County Community Service Program participants and staff spend the first and third Wednesdays of each month in the Boston community assisting with Food Pantry operations at the Charles Street AME Church on Warren Street.

Community Service participants and program supervisors load donated food from the Greater Boston Food Bank onto a moving truck, transport it to the church, unload the items, and stock the pantry in preparation for community food distributions.

“This year, the partnership helped the church provide more than 200 turkeys, along with fresh produce and canned goods, ensuring families had access to Thanksgiving meals and essential daily staples,” said Patrick Dugan, Suffolk County Court Service Coordinator. “This ongoing effort continues to strengthen food security for residents in the surrounding community.”

Community Service participants, probationers and justice-involved individuals, engage in local efforts such as park and road maintenance; food pantry and animal shelter assistance as well as help with collecting food and supplies from statewide charity drives and transports them to food pantries.
