Pittsfield — A judge on Friday ordered a Pittsfield woman to be jailed for 120 days after the Berkshire District Attorney’s Office requested the defendant be held on the grounds of dangerousness.
Lyric Medina-Aviles, 23, was charged Jan. 11th in Pittsfield Court on the felony charge of assault with a dangerous weapon. At the arraignment, the office of Berkshire District Attorney Andrea Harrington argued that Medina-Aviles posed a threat to the community, and moved for a dangerousness hearing.
Judge Jennifer Tyne granted the dangerousness hearing and presided over it on Friday. The judge agreed with the District Attorney’s Office motion and ordered the defendant to be held for 120 days without bail pending a trial. Medina-Aviles faces additional charges stemming from a police search of her home executed on Jan. 12.
Berkshire Assistant District Attorney Allison Pash argued the case for the District Attorney’s Office.
