For years, Susan Ferreira-Emery, proprietor of Cake Connections, has been adding a little extra sweetness to Abington’s veteran community.
Cake Connections is a one-woman, home-based bakery founded on Susan’s lifelong passion for baking and creativity. Her culinary journey began in 1978 at the South Weymouth Naval Air Station, where her love for the craft first took shape. Since then, she’s earned numerous awards for her skill and artistry — and has become a beloved local favorite.
Since 2018, Susan has been a dedicated supporter of the Abington Veterans’ Services Office, generously donating hundreds of cupcakes and beautifully crafted cakes for veteran-focused events and celebrations. She never accepts payment when the cause supports veterans — giving freely of her time, talent, and heart.
Susan’s commitment goes beyond baking; it’s a true act of service. Her kindness, creativity, and ongoing dedication make her one of Abington’s hidden gems, and we are sincerely grateful for the joy she continues to bring to our community and our veterans.
