PITTSFIELD — A Pittsfield man was arraigned this morning in Central Berkshire District Court on drug and weapons charges. 23 year old MARCEL H. TEIXEIRA-INGRAM, JR. (39 West Housatonic Street) appeared before Judge John McKenna.
TEIXEIRA-INGRAM had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on one (1) count of MANUFACTURING COCAINE, one (1) count of ARMED ASSAULT WITH INTENT TO MURDER, one (1) count of ILLEGAL POSSESSION OF A LOADED FIREARM, one (1) count of POSSESSION OF A FIREARM DURING THE COMMISSION OF A FELONY and one (1) count of ASSAULT WITH A DANGEROUS WEAPON, TO WIT: A FIREARM. He is being held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail. TEIXEIRA-INGRAM will be back in Court for a pre-trial hearing on November 14, 2018.
The charges stem from the execution of a search warrant at his home on October 12, 2018. Upon entering the residence and announcing that police officers were serving a search warrant, TEIXEIRA-INGRAM appeared with a handgun and pointed it at officers, two of whom discharged their weapons in response to his assaultive behavior. No one was struck and TEIXEIRA-INGRAM was taken into custody.
The investigation is being conducted by state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office, the Massachusetts State Police Crime Scene Services and Ballistics Sections, members of the Pittsfield and Dalton Police Departments and the Berkshire County Sheriff’s Department.
