Wakefield — The Board of Registration in Medicine - Committee on Acupuncture is pleased to announce that we have introduced public profiles for acupuncturists, available on our license verification site FindMyAcupuncturist.mass.gov.
This is a welcomed addition to our physician profiles providing real-time license status, and offers an opportunity for the citizens of Massachusetts to find information on their provider as well as search for a provider close to them. The profile will include basic information regarding license issue date, expiration date, current license status, acupuncture education, business address, and \whether the licensee is authorized to employ Chinese herbal therapy. The profile will also include any public disciplinary actions or clearly indicate that there are none.
This profile information will be published for all acupuncturists that have held an active license at any time since November 8, 1996, in parallel with the state's Profile Law for physicians.
The Board and the Committee on Acupuncture are both excited to introduce this feature in support of the mission of transparency and to provide relevant information for the health care consumers in Massachusetts.
