The Fall River Recovery Court is celebrating its 10th anniversary this Friday, December 5th, at 1 pm, as a program that has helped change the lives of individuals struggling with significant substance abuse challenges.

The celebration will be held at the Fall Rive Justice Center, Jury Pool Room, 3rd floor, 186 Main Street, in Fall River. Recovery Court alumni will attend and share their stories. Recovery Court Team members, local representatives, community partners and Trial Court employees along with state, local, and court leaders are also scheduled to attend, including:

  • Fall River Mayor Paul Coogan
  • Fall River Police Chief Kelly Furtado
  • Retired Judge Christopher Welch
  • Judge Cynthia Brackett
  • Attorney Lisa Luongo
  • Assistant District Attorney (ADA) Kyle McPherson
  • Fall River District CPO Mark Costa
  • Trial Court Specialty Court Director Sheila Casey

The Fall River Recovery Court, one of more than 30 statewide, also has a Fall River Recovery Court Alumni Program. The Alumni group serve as a source of support for current participants and themselves.

Fall River Recovery Court also has a team—including court and community organizations—which oversees the management of the program.
