PITTSFIELD — A Rensselaer, New York man was arraigned this afternoon in Berkshire Superior Court on sexual assault charges. 48 year old JOHN TOBIN appeared before Judge John Agostini.
TOBIN had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on sic (6) counts of RAPE AND ABUSE OF A CHILD AGGRAVATED BY AN AGE DIFFERENCE, one (1) count of ENTICING A CHILD UNDER 16, one (1) count of POSING A CHILD IN THE NUDE, one (1) count of DISSEMINATING HARMFUL MATTER TO A MINOR, nine (9) counts of INDECENT ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON PERSON WHO HAS ATTAINED 14 and one (1) count of FURNISHING ALCOHOL TO A MINOR. Judge Agostini released him on $12,500 bail on the condition TOBIN stay away from and have no contact with the alleged victim.
The incidents are alleged to have occurred in Williamstown between January 15, 2018 and April 19, 2018 and involved a 15 year old girl.
The investigation was conducted by members of the Williamstown Police Department and state police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office.
