BOSTON — Today Treasurer Deborah B. Goldberg launched a new internship program in the Treasurer's office, highlighting her commitment to make state government accessible for hard-working college students who aspire to learn more about careers in public service.

“We look forward to working with college students across the Commonwealth as they seek to combine classroom learning with hands on experience in government," said Treasurer Deborah Goldberg. “Interns will help to implement our robust policy agenda goals of fiscal responsibility, innovative technology and economic empowerment."

Students will have an opportunity to intern in a wide range of departments, including the newly launched Office of Economic Empowerment, Clean Water Trust, Unclaimed Property, the Alcoholic Beverages Control Commission (ABCC), the Massachusetts State Lottery, as well as the scheduling, press, legislative and policy departments in the Treasurer's Office.

Applications will be accepted on a rolling basis with the program beginning on April 1. Students interested in applying should visit http://www.mass.gov/treasury/about/employment-and-internships/internships.html.
