Press Release  Vega enters not guilty pleas on several charges

PITTSFIELDA Pittsfield man was arraigned this morning in Berkshire Superior Court on several charges. 50 year old LIONEL VEGA a/k/a JOSE CRUZ and GILBERT VEGA (58 Taylor Street) appeared before Judge John Agostini.

VEGA had not guilty pleas entered on his behalf on three (3) counts of ASSAULT AND BATTERY ON A FAMILY OR HOUSEHOLD MEMBER (subsequent offense), one (1) count of STRANGULATION OF SUFFOCATION, one (1) count of THREAT TO COMMIT A CRIME, TO WIT: MURDER, one (1) count of RESISTING ARREST and one (1) count of DISTURBING THE PEACE. Judge Agostini ordered that he be held at the Berkshire County House of Correction without the right to bail and must continue to abide by the conditions of a restraining order.

The incidents are alleged to have occurred in Pittsfield on August 5, 2017 and involved a 42 year old woman.

The investigation was conducted by members of the Pittsfield Police Department.
