Established on June 26, 2023, the Abington Veterans Advisory Council has become an essential part of the community’s effort to serve and support local veterans. Made up of passionate volunteers, the council plays a key advisory role for Abington Veterans Service Officer Adam Gunn, offering guidance and collaboration on initiatives that improve the lives of veterans and their families.

The council serves as both a resource and a voice for veterans, helping to raise awareness about the benefits and programs available while assisting individuals in navigating complex systems to access the support they’ve earned.

The council’s dedicated members—Travis Partington, Justin Simmons, Bill Dodge, Phil Delany, and Pete Waltersand his wife Janice—bring their time, experience, and compassion to every meeting. For each of them, serving on the council is not just volunteer work; it’s an honor and a way to give back to those who have served.

Meeting monthly, the Abington Veterans Advisory Council continues to build a strong foundation of advocacy and community engagement, ensuring that Abington’s veterans receive the respect, recognition, and assistance they deserve.
