Worcester Superior Court probation officers and Worcester police officers participated in Operation Watchdog, a Halloween safety initiative Friday night.

There were no arrests or violations issued as PO’s found that clients mostly abided by the conditions of the court and were in compliance with the Sex Offender Registry Board (SORB ) orders.

The Probation Officers participating in this operation included Luis Aviles, Carlos Villamarin, and Brandon McLaughlin.

The team visited the homes of 20-30 level 2 and level 3 sex offenders and checked to see if the individuals were in compliance with SORB orders as well as enforced court orders, according to Worcester Superior Court Chief Probation Officer Raymond Loughlin who managed this effort for Probation.

During these visits, the Probation Officers—equipped with Supervision sheets including probationers’ criminal record information, conditions of probation and photos—verified offenders’ current addresses and confirmed that they were in compliance with their probation conditions as set by the court.

The collaboration between Worcester Superior Court Probation Officers and Worcester Police was first launched 17 years ago in 2008.

Probation Officers from Worcester Dudley, and Uxbridge District Courts also participated in similar operations.
