PittsfieldDozens of seniors in Berkshire County will receive a handwritten card for Valentine’s Day from members of the Berkshire District Attorney Office’s Youth Advisory Board.

The Youth Advisory Board consists of juniors and seniors from area high schools who engage their peers through education, leadership and community service. As part of the group's Make a Senior Smile Project, members recently visited the District Attorney’s Office and penned 50 Valentine's Day cards that will be distributed as part of the Meals on Wheels Program. District Attorney Andrea Harrington welcomed the students and encouraged them to stay active in their communities.

Members advise the District Attorney’s Office of critical risk factors affecting youth, and develop and administer prevention projects. They are finalizing the agenda for their annual Students Teaching Respect, Integrity, Values and Equality (STRIVE) Youth Conference for eighth-grade students in April.
