Over the past ten years, opioid overdoses have increased significantly in Massachusetts. In response, DPH has implemented a number of projects to reduce the number of overdoses.
Opioids include heroin and prescription drugs such as oxycodone (OxyContin), fentanyl, hydrocodone, codeine, and methadone.
