In accordance with 520 CMR 5.00, all amusement devices in Massachusetts must be licensed and inspected by the Office of Public Safety and Inspection (OPSI). Regulation and safety issues related to amusement devices are reviewed by the Amusement Advisory Board. These devices include carnival and park rides, climbing walls, challenge course, and inflatables such as bouncy houses. The Board is comprised of 16 voluntary members, who are appointed to serve by the OPSI Commissioner.
