Who we serve

The MWRA Employees’ Retirement System is a contributory defined benefit plan which was established under C. 372 of the Acts of 1984, and which covers employees of the Massachusetts Water Resources Authority.  The Massachusetts Water Resources Authority provides water and/or sewer services to sixty-one communities throughout the Commonwealth. The MWRA Employees’ Retirement System has over $525,000,000 in assets, with over 1100 active and over 580 retired members.

There is a five-member board which meets monthly:

Ex Officio Member: Brian Peña
Elected Member: James M. Fleming, Esq. (Chairperson)
Elected Member: Kevin McKenna
Appointed Member: Matthew Horan
Fifth Member: Frank Zecha
