Veterans Alternative Therapy Working Group (VAT)

Part of the HERO Act signed by Governor Healey, the Veterans Alternative Therapy Working Group is tasked with exploring the potential benefits of psychedelic therapy in treating mental health disorders among veterans.

About

The Group will evaluate scientific research, expert opinions, and clinical trials to determine the effectiveness of treatments using psilocybin, ketamine, and MDMA under medical supervision. Comprising experts from medical institutions, veterans organizations, and behavioral health fields, the group aims to develop evidence-based recommendations on the use of these therapies for veterans in the Commonwealth.
