Kate Watson

A proud military mother of a Marine (Triple M), Kate brings decades of experience in public policy, program development, evaluation, and research to Massachusetts.

A policy and program nomad, she spent her earlier years raising her family in New Jersey and came to Massachusetts via the greater Washington, D.C. community specifically to serve in the first-of-its-kind Office of the Veteran Advocate.  A passionate advocate for women veterans, Kate has engaged in advocacy and academic research on this “invisible” population for nearly a decade.

Recipient of a master’s degree in public policy from Rutgers University and an undergraduate degree from the University of Iowa, Kate has worked across the public, private, and nonprofit sectors.  As a natural advocate, she has consistently focused her efforts on serving the public good, working on program development, legislation, regulations, and partnerships that address issues ranging from healthcare to transportation, air quality to small business growth, and from assessing port operations and emissions to evaluating the needs of women veterans.
