Paul Furbush II

Regional Liaison - Central

Paul Furbush joined the Office of the Veteran Advocate as the Central Regional Liaison in December 2024.

As one of four liaisons, he serves as a critical bridge between OVA and organizations serving the veteran community at the federal, state and local levels. Prior to joining our team, Paul provided outreach, resources and expertise to companies, employer groups, veterans’ organizations, workforce partners and government agencies for 14 years in various State and Federal positions.

Paul retired from the Navy in 2010 after completing 20 years of service. He served onboard three Fast Attack Submarines, two tours as a Military Training Instructor, one tour at a Submarine Repair Facility and one tour conducting Missile Flight and Trident Submarine Equipment testing.

While on active duty, Paul was trained and served as a Career Counselor, Drug and Alcohol Program Advisor, Education Service Officer, Interior Communications Electrician and Electronics Technician. He attained a Bachelor’s Degree in Workforce Education and Training from Southern Illinois University Carbondale and attended Strayer University for Graduate Studies in Business Administration, with a focus on Human Resources.

    The Office of the Veteran Advocate is an independent state agency tasked with ensuring veterans under the care of the Commonwealth receive dignified treatment and access to all available benefits and services. The OVA works collaboratively with its partners, providing policy recommendations and investigative oversight.
